Reference Transport through Graphene on SrTiO

چکیده
We report transport measurements through graphene on SrTiO3 substrates as a function of magnetic field B, carrier density n, and temperature T. The large dielectric constant of SrTiO3 very effectively screens long-range electron-electron interactions and potential fluctuations, making Dirac electrons in graphene virtually noninteracting. The absence of interactions results in an unexpected behavior of the longitudinal resistance in the N=0 Landau level and in a large suppression of the transport gap in nanoribbons. The “bulk” transport properties of graphene at B=0 T, on the contrary, are completely unaffected by the substrate dielectric

Unconventional Transport through Graphene on SrTiO3: A Plausible Effect of SrTiO3 Phase-Transitions
High-k dielectric oxides are supposedly ideal gate-materials for ultra-high doping in graphene and other 2D-crystals. Here, we report a temperature-dependent electronic transport study on chemical vapor deposited-graphene gated with SrTiO₃ (STO) thin film substrate. At carrier densities away from charge neutrality point the temperature-dependent resistivity of our graphene samples on both STO a...
متن کاملSpin-polarized transport through a zigzag-edge graphene flake embedded between two armchair nanoribbons electrodes
We study the coherent spin-polarized transport through a zigzag-edge graphene flake (ZGF), using Hubbard model in the nearest neighbor approximation within the framework of the Green function’s technique and Landauer formalism. The system considered consists of electrode/ (ZGF)/electrode, in which the electrodes are chosen to be armchair nanoribbons. The study was performed for two types of ele...
متن کاملConductance of T-shaped Graphene nanodevice with single disorder
Disordered T-shaped graphene nanodevice (TGN) was designed and studied in this paper. We demonstrated the intrinsic transport properties of the TGN by using Landauer approach. Knowing the transmission probability of an electron the current through the system is obtained using Landauer-Buttiker formalism. The effects of single disorder on conductance, current and on the transport length scales a...

متن کاملMassive symmetry breaking in LaAlO3/SrTiO3(111) quantum wells: a three-orbital strongly correlated generalization of graphene.
Density functional theory calculations with an on-site Coulomb repulsion term reveal competing ground states in (111)-oriented (LaAlO(3))(M)/(SrTiO(3))(N) superlattices with n-type interfaces, ranging from spin, orbitally polarized (with selective e(g)('), a(1g), or d(xy) occupation), Dirac point Fermi surface, to charge-ordered flat band phases. These phases are steered by the interplay of (i)...
